Military Trail Donates to Charities Supporting Active Service Members, Veterans & Their Families

The moment an individual enlists in the military, they take on the great responsibility of serving and protecting our great nation, along with all the unforeseen dangers that come along with that commitment. For many of those that enlist, their job will take them into the most dangerous parts of the world, where they will be responsible for battling the enemies of freedom. After experiencing these traumatic events, they are all too often expected to be able to continue working and living their lives as if nothing bad had happened to them.

When Midway Labs USA decided to create Military Trail in honor of these servicemen and women whom always have to be physically prepared to defend us, they realized that just creating a product line intended to support the caloric and other supplemental needs of military personnel wasn’t enough to properly honor them. To adequately support active duty service men and women, veterans, and their families in all aspects of their lives, we needed to contribute to charities that support them as well.

Because of this realization, the Military Trail team decided to donate 5% of the brand’s 2017 U.S. gross sales proceeds to charities that support our active service members, veterans, law enforcement, and their families. This week, Military Trail followed up on this promise and donated those proceeds to the 11 charities we had pledged to donate to. These charities are as follows: Wounded Warrior Family Support, Armed Services YMCA of the USA, Racing for Heroes, National Military Family Association, Labs 4 Liberty, American Hero Adventure, 22 Kill, Honoring America's Warriors, American Veteran Dog, Connected Warrior, and C.O.P.S.

We received a number of heartfelt messages from these charities in response to our donations, including the ones below. We're proud to know Military Trail's donations are making a difference for these charities and the populations that they serve.

"We appreciate your strong desire to give back to the military and are honored that you want to contribute to our mission of supporting them. We look forward to working with you and your team again this year."

- Chris Haley, Chief of Staff and VP Marketing & Communications, Armed Services YMCA

-John Miller, President and CEO, America’s VetDogs

"Honoring America's Warriors' partnership with Military Trail has not only provided us with funding, but has also facilitated a way to reach more veterans whose lives are improved through physical fitness."

"Thank you so very much for your generous contribution to help the amazing men and women we serve! We will have a team of 40 wounded, ill and injured veterans, along with 20 civilian athletes with disabilities participating in the Boston Marathon on April 16th! Your funds are truly helping with their healing post-trauma!"

 - Janet Patton, Director, Achilles Freedom Team, Achilles International

"We're very grateful for the support we've received from Military Trail and their customers. It's partnerships and efforts like these that help support the programs and services 22KILL provides to veterans, first responders, and their families.  Nutrition is such a vital aspect of overall well-being, and Military Trail's commitment to health and wellness goes hand in hand with 22KILL's mission to help people live their best lives. With this donation, we're able to provide traditional and non-traditional therapies to more warriors, police officers, firefighters, EMS and their families this year."

 - Melissa McKay, Director of Operations, 22KILL

"Labs for Liberty is honored to be a beneficiary of Midway Labs USA's Military Trail program. Through their generosity, Military Trail will assist us in providing service dogs to American Warriors, helping them to achieve a new, healthy normal."

- Joan Nold, President & Co-Founder, Labs for Liberty

As we continue into 2018 and beyond, Military Trail plans on making even greater strides to support those that dedicate their lives to protecting our country. After all, we wouldn’t be the land of the free without the brave, and we have to give the brave the respect and resources they need and deserve to live their best lives.

RACING FOR HEROES, INC.

"Racing For Heroes’ integrates military veterans into motorsports with the primary focus is on suicide prevention, through assistance to disabled combat veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). With 22 veteran suicides per day, time is not on our side. These brave men and women transition back home feeling alone and isolated, with an overall lack of purpose in life. We provide hope and effective resources to assist in the recovery of their visible and invisible wounds. Participants are provided with a new mission and lifestyle, in a safe community with a true sense of belonging. While with us, they are able to learn new occupational and coping skills from experienced veterans who have overcome the same struggles. Unlike many other programs, one of our key staff members is a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in PTSD and TBI who is also a disabled combat veteran. This ensures ongoing mental health support to both Racing For Heroes participants and their families, who are also included in our programs and services."

These service dogs’ primary focus must be their veteran and the tasks they perform for that veteran. They will also be capable of serving as a hunting companion to those veterans who find healing through hunting and outdoor activities.
